Quality Assurance

Quality You Can Rely On

A four-stage inspection system and an ISO 9001 quality management system govern every order, from incoming components through to the moment the goods are released for shipment.

ISO 9001 Quality Management

Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001. That means documented procedures, defined responsibilities and recorded evidence at each production stage — not a single inspection at the end of the line.

Those procedures govern incoming material release, first-article confirmation, in-process patrol inspection, final inspection, outgoing inspection, and the control of measuring and test equipment.

For a European customer the practical benefit is a supplier whose process is written down and followed, so results are repeatable from the first prototype order to the hundredth production batch.

IPC-A-610 Soldering Standard

Production follows the IPC-A-610 Class 2/3 soldering acceptance standard — the internationally recognised benchmark for electronic assemblies.

Class 2 applies to dedicated-service products where continued performance is required. Class 3 applies to high-reliability products where continued performance is critical and the equipment must not fail in service.

Using a published standard matters because it removes ambiguity. When we say a solder joint is acceptable, we are pointing at a shared, objective specification rather than at our own opinion.

Inspection System

A Four-Stage Inspection System

IQC, IPQC, FQC and OQC cover every order from incoming materials through to shipment.

  1. IQC

    Incoming Quality Control

Sampling inspection of purchased components — brand, specification and appearance are verified before any material is released to the line.

  2. IPQC

    In-Process Quality Control

First-article confirmation and patrol inspection every two hours, with SPI solder paste inspection and AOI optical inspection applied to every board.

  3. FQC

    Final Quality Control

Full visual inspection, ICT / FCT functional testing and burn-in testing, with non-conforming units isolated and handled separately.

  4. OQC

    Outgoing Quality Control

Packaging checks, label verification and outgoing sampling inspection before goods are released for delivery.

Inspection & Testing

Inspection & Testing Equipment

Six inspection technologies are used across our production lines. Each one answers a question that the others cannot.

  • AOI optical inspection after reflow
  • SPI solder paste inspection after printing
  • X-ray inspection for hidden BGA and QFN joints
  • ICT in-circuit testing of the assembled board
  • FCT functional testing against an agreed specification
  • Burn-in and ageing under load
  • Firmware programming and calibration
  • First-article confirmation and two-hourly patrol inspection
